Louisiana Autism Spectrum and Related Disabilities Project

LASARD has a 12 year track record of effectively partnering with Louisiana educators, schools, and school systems (both traditional and charter). A project within the Human Development Center at LSU Health Sciences Center, LASARD has extensive experience in providing support to teachers in educating students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other disabilities with similar needs. The LASARD staff of experienced educators has mentored and supported hundreds of teachers across the state to implement specialized supports to meet the unique needs of their diverse learners. Our staff know from experience and research that sitting in a professional development session does not always translate to practice in the classroom, so we pair our training sessions with job embedded coaching (observation, modeling, and feedback) to support implementation of the evidence-based practices covered in the trainings. We have taken what we have learned from our 12 years of success in Louisiana schools and created an array of services which can be customized to meet your individual needs and will be supported by our Louisiana-based staff.

LASARD is a Louisiana Department of Education Approved Vendor

The LASARD Project will be included in the Louisiana Department of Education Partnership for Success as a vendor for Professional Development on Specialized Supports for Educators.  If your school, district, or network is interested in partnering with LASARD for the 2020-2021 school year, please review our services by clicking here, or contact us to build a customized package for you!  Email Julie Riley, LASARD Project Coordinator, at for more information.
