Constituent Advisory Council |
The purpose of the CAC is to advise the Human Development Center’s Director, faculty, and staff in a manner that supports the Human Development Center in meeting its responsibilities and mission in accordance with the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act (2000).
Every five years, LSUHSC Human Development Center must devise a 5-year plan that guides the activities of the UCEDD. The activities are designed to address the needs of individuals with disabilities in those areas that are listed in the DD Act and some areas of significance that are not specifically listed in the Act. Regularly scheduled meetings of the CAC result in both the development and execution of the 5-year plan. CAC members help evaluate UCEDD activities and suggest courses of action to better accomplish the mission and goals of LSUHSC Human Development Center.
These pages are intended to offer information to CAC members and the general public. Please take this opportunity to review the information contained in our site and to offer suggestions that will help us in obtaining our mission of playing a key role in Louisiana by addressing issues, such as early intervention, health care, community-based services, inclusive and meaningful education, transition from school to work, employment, housing, assistive technology, and transportation. Many individuals and organizations have been directly benefited by the services, research, and training provided by LSUHSC Human Development Center. |
