The Purpose of the Constituent Advisory Council
The Constituent Advisory Council (CAC) guides and advises the Human Development Center (HDC). The CAC helps the HDC create and move towards its vision. CAC members give their ideas for how the HDC can help people with disabilities and their families have the lives they want.
What CAC Members Do
1.) Learn all about the HDC and CAC.
2.) Tell the HDC about my interests, gifts, and talents.
3.) Provide HDC staff with input on programs to improve community participation and person-centered outcomes for people with disabilities, their families, and others concerned about disability issues.
4.) Work with other CAC members and the Community Council to identify unmet needs and interests of people with disabilities.
5.) Share HDC information with other individuals, agencies, and organizations the serve people with disabilities in order to build stronger relationships and/or develop partnerships.
6.) Attend at least 50% of HDC Constituent Advisory Council meetings held each year.
7.) Share life experiences and information that will help the HDC.
