What is LA-BPAO?
The Benefits Planning, Assistance and Outreach (BPAO) Project is a federally-funded initiative administered in partnership between Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center's School of Allied Health Professions, Human Development Center and the Governor's Office of Disability Affairs.
This project is designed to educate and assist individuals with disabilities receiving SSI/SSDI, and those who support them regarding the impact of employment on various state and federal benefits/subsidies they receive.
How Can This Project Help Me?
If you want to work, or work more, but are afraid of what may happen to your state and federal benefits, a Benefits Specialist may be able to assist you. A trained Benefits Specialist is available to review and assess your employment and benefits history.
The Benefits Specialist can help you make informed decisions about working, or working more, by showing you how various work incentive programs can make it easier to work and safeguard the benefit/subsidy programs you require.
