Louisiana State Planning Council on Developmental Disabilities
  The Louisiana Developmental Disabilities Council is made up of people from every region of the state who are appointed by the governor to develop and implement a five year plan to address the needs of persons with disabilities.  Membership includes persons with developmental disabilities, parents, advocates, professionals, and representatives from public and private agencies.
 
TriAngle Newsletter
  A publication of Louisiana Tri * ADD, (i.e., the Lousiana UCEDD, DD Council, and P&A) promoting independence, productivity, inclusion, and integration desired by people with disabilities. 
 
Advocacy Center, Inc.
  The Advocacy Center (AC) is Louisiana's protection and advocacy system mandated by Federal law to protect the rights of persons with mental or physical disabilities.  AC is also funded by the state to provide legal assistance to people residing in nursing homes in Louisiana, as well as to residents, 60 years and older, of Orleans, Plaquemines, Allen, and Calcasieu Parishes (counties); and to advocate for the rights of group home and nursing home residents.  Among the diverse services offered are legal representation, information and referral, outreach and training.

Louisiana Citizens for Action Now (LaCAN)
  Advocating for individualized community supports for Louisiana citizens who experience developmental disabilities LaCAN is a statewide grassroots network of individuals and families who have worked together since 1988 advocating for a system that supports individuals to live in their own homes rather than having to move to a facility to receive needed services.  Specifically, they have advocated for implementation of Louisiana's Community and Family Support System Plan.

  The Arc of the United States is the national organization of and for people with mental retardation and related disabilities and their families.  We are devoted to promoting and improving the quality of services for consumers and families.  We believe TheArcLink.org puts information about services in the hands of those who need it most and is a powerful way to get information directly to the consumer.  It gives people the tools they need to make informed choices.
 
RESNA Technical Assistance Project
  The RESNA Technical Assistance Project's web site provides links to Tech Act Project home pages and more, including the Department of Education and the National Institute on Disability Rehabilitation and Research.

  Areas of information include education, directories and databases, statistics, government documents, computer access, legal publications, web sites, bibliographic references, aging, politics, universal design, and announcements.

  This is an extensive site that leads you to mailing lists, news groups, web sites, government listings.  Assistive technology resources are included.

  Resources are listed in many categories including general resources, education, technology, legal, social, and political issues, individuals with disabilities in specific career fields, hearing impairments, visual impairments, mobility and physical impairments, etc.
 
National Transition Alliance for Youth with Disabilities
  Monthly resource bulletins, quarterly Alliance newsletters, Upcoming Conference listings, 1999 Directory of Model Projects.
 
ERRIS (Enhancing Rehabilitation Research in the South)
  Under the direction of Dr. James A. Blackman, MD, MPH of the University of Virginia, Enhancing Rehabilitation Research in the South (ERRIS) is designed to provide an infrastructure that will increase the quality and quantity of rehabilitation research in the region.  All etiologies and age groups are included, although there is a relative focus on central nervous system injury and pediatric through young adult populations.
